Porcelain Crowns (Caps) Lake Elsinore
A porcelain crown is a cover that encloses a tooth surface to restore its original size and shape. It is designed to strengthen and protect tooth structures that cannot be restored using fillings. Though there are numerous tooth crown types, tooth colored porcelain crowns are popular because they resemble natural teeth shape and color. Moreover, they are durable and last for years if well maintained.
You may need Porcelain Crowns for;
- Cosmetic enhancement

- Decayed teeth
- Large fillings
- Fractured fillings
- After a root canal
Getting a Porcelain Crown
You require two appointments for a successful porcelain crown procedure. During the initial appointment, the dentist will take accurate impressions that are used to formulate a custom crown. A temporary crown that you use for two weeks is made using a mold. The dentist will numb the tooth and prepare it for the crown by cleaning decayed matter and shaping the surface to ensure that the crown fits properly. The temporary crown is placed using temporary cement that is removed after two weeks.
During the second appointment, the temporary crown is removed, the tooth is cleaned again and the porcelain cap is place carefully to ensure that the biting and spacing are accurate. Before leaving the Lake Elsinore clinic, you will be given care instructions and your next follow-up date.
